Leonardo's Horse

Next week, our Kindergarteners are traveling to Frederik Meijer Gardens to visit the butterflies! While they are there, we want them to explore some other masterpieces as well! Outside the gardens, there is a sculpture created by Renaissance artist, Leondardo DaVinci! We are introducing this sculpture to them so they can see it when they visit next week!

Blue Dog!

Our 1st and 2nd graders are learning about the artist George Rodrigue (1944-2013). He is a pop artist who created works from the Cajun Culture in Louisiana. He painted his beloved dog Tiffany blue colored because of the night sky's reflection onto her white fur. We are creating our own blue dogs!

Our Snowmen!

Kindergarten read the pop-up book "Snowmen at Night" and then thought about what they would want their Snowmen to do at night while they  are sleeping!

Students are learning about the Olympics!

1st and 2nd grade students are learning about the symbols that are used in the Olympics so that everyone is able to communicate even though they speak different languages.

They practiced drawing people in ACTION with bends in their arms and legs,
not just stick people!

Our students then thought about what things they like to do in Winter Time and
they created a gesture self-portrait of them in action!
